As a business intermediary and advisor and business valuation expert, I successfully guide business sellers and buyers through the business transfer process.  Having founded and operated my own business brokerage company for several years, I made the decision to join Murphy Business & Financial - Mountain West.  Why?   Because I didn't want to be a sole practitioner any longer. Over the years, I learned that being a part of a strong team, with the same values, operating in a well-built infrastructure provides my clients with the most successful outcome possible.  And it makes my life much easier too!

 As a 20 plus year commercial lending veteran holding the position of Vice President with several large banking institutions, I know how to get deals financed.  I originated and closed numerous Small Business Administration (SBA) 7(a) and 504 loans for acquisition, start-up and expansion financing.

Additionally, I launched, and led two economic development programs serving more than 2,000 entrepreneurs over a four-year period. Through these programs, my team and I provided one-on-one consulting and group workshop training to business owners to start, grow and succeed with their ventures.

I graduated from Pacific Coast Banking School at the University of Washington, the premier graduate school for bankers. I hold the Certified Valuation Analyst (CVA) and Business Certified Appraiser (BCA) credentials for business valuation.  Also, I received the Certified Business Intermediary and Certified Treasury Professional designations.   And I am licensed Idaho real estate broker.   I have completed the four core courses towards obtaining the Certified Commercial Investment Member designation.  I am proud to be a Bronco having graduated from Boise State University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in business and communication.

What's Goodwill Got to Do With It?

The other day an attorney friend said in his best Scrooge-like voice, “I don’t like goodwill.” Because we were discussing business sales, I knew he wasn’t referring to the happy, peaceful, holiday goodwill. He meant business goodwill except he called it “blue-sky”. Contrary to popular belief, the word blue-sky is not synonymous with goodwill.
